This was not the place for children to play, but yet this newborn Charmander found her way to the Overhang. The high rocky walls form over the dock below, which of course meant there was water below the rocks as well. Internal instincts should of told her to stay away from this place, but her curiosity got the better of her.
The dangers seemed to be hidden by the exotic beauty this cliff had to offer. A beautiful view of the ocean which surrounded them on all sides, the sun lowering itself in the distance sending colors racing across both skies and sea. It was absolutely stunning.
Large green eyes stared out in the distance, soaking in her surroundings. Breathing in deeply, the scent of salt and water came rushing into her nose. Usually she was afraid of water, but at the moment it was respect she felt; not fear. Eyes closed softly as she allowed herself to enjoy the gentle breezes which came up from the sea.
She would of been able to stay like this, peacefully, forever - if it had not been for her taking a few steps forward with her eyes shut. Suddenly, when she put her foot down it didn't press onto the rocks like it had done before, there was no rock for her foot to stand on. Quickly her eyes opened, seeing the water and dock below. She had just started out in this life, could this really be her demise?
A sudden, and extreme, fear rushed over her. The young Charmander could think of nothing, she couldn't even think to try and catch herself before she fell. (the fall itself wouldn't of been so dangerous, IF her tail was not made of her life's flame.)

B L A Z E the A R C A N I N E The sun was setting, it was clear that it was time to return to his garden and tend to the plants that bloomed in the night. Those flowers loved to stretch out their leafy arms and brush their petals against the cold, the berries too would emerge from their buds and be enveloped by the chill. It made them tasty and somewhat more favorable, but most of all. Blaze loved to greet his plants, to see them in their glory and see the bright color that they provided.
He did not want to miss it, so he clenched his jaws tighter and curled his tongue around the leafy package, cradling it but keeping it safe. Blaze had ventured fairly far tonight to grab Razz berries, for their spicy but dry flavor was perfect for his curry. Blaze enjoyed cooking and although he rarely did it because there was often too much company, the island seemed quiet enough and the weather pleasant enough for him to do so.
He flicked his tail and pondered on using his Extreme Speed move to quicken the time before here and there. Perhaps it would be best, just to hurry but he was concerned that the force of the wind against him would make him accidentally crush the Razz berries. But still, it was better then the linger in the open where some Pokemon may pop out, looking for a conversation. Blaze was in no mood. He wanted to be happy, not talking about trainers that made him feel remorseful.
He didn't want to talk about their day either, for it bored him and although it was selfish of one of the original six, Blaze was perhaps the most blunt in that he did not want their company. It made him feel guilty and with the season blossoming, it was too good a weather to have to feel so terrible. Then suddenly, from the corner of his golden eyes as he loped along the edge of the coastline. Against the bright, exhausted sun there was a figure standing upon a cliff. It looked too small to be just any adult Pokemon and it was a fire type as well, for the flame behind it continued to illuminate it further. Blaze skidded to a stop, his massive paws grinding into the ground and his tail whisking the air so that it stopped whistling along his striped orange coat.
He watched, narrowing his eyes as he saw the baby Pokemon begin taking steps forward. His ears flew up, swiveling forward and he dropped his Razz berry package. At the slightest tilt, the Arcanine felt the surge of power as his haunches kicked against the ground and sent him rocketing into the air. His front paws curved, the claws gripping into the ground and sending him quite a few feet forward. It didn't take him long for his body was long and his strides were filled with strength, but it still wasn't soon enough. The Charmander, for he could see her now was going over the edge.
Everything seemed to slow as Blaze called upon his Extreme Speed to grab onto her, his massive paws clung to the edge of the cliff while his haunches pushed back. Both trying to keep himself from falling over as well, for the quiet sea could turn torrential and wily at any moment. But he wanted to catch her as well, for if this Charmander were to fall in. It'd be a heavy toll to pay for she had her life at the tip of her tail, a little flame both sturdy and enduring. But to fall into the ocean, surrounded by water that lived to put out fire. It'd perhaps kill her.
Blaze adored children and cared for the Pokemon of the island, no matter how it seemed that he did not. The Arcanine did. So just as she was about to fall into the sea, barely out of his grip. Blaze jumped, pushing his massive hulk forward and grabbing her tail. He jerked his head back, tossing her back but the force of having to reach out so much. Well, he found himself dropped heavily into the ocean instead. Luckily, his fire was inside of him although soaked it was and already quite dim. But Blaze was a strong fellow and the night had been calm, the moon pleasant and therefore the waters were sweet to him. The current carried him to shore where the striped Pokemon trudged onto the shore and flopped onto his side.
It wasn't much of an effort to swim back, but the fall had knocked the wind from him. Blaze hadn't been through into a situation where he had lost control in quite awhile. It shocked him, it amazed him. It bothered him most of all. The Arcanine hated to be out of control, to be weaker then his surroundings for the ocean was always too big for even him to battle. But suddenly the thought reoccurred to him, what had happened to the Charmander? had his jerking gesture been enough to throw her back on the cliff? Blaze pushed himself up wards and sprinted for the cliff, golden eyes looking eagerly for the baby Pokemon with a foolish mind. ooc: gah lame. sorry. three posts and I'm tired! hah!
